TOADD Programs

The Ignite Diverse Tech Initiatives serve to combat the lack of diversity in the technology industry by providing programs for minorities to gain increase knowledge and awareness about Tech opportunities.  Every month, the tech industry adds about 9,600 jobs to the U.S. economy. Between May 2009 and May 2015, over 800,000 net STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, arts and math) jobs were added to the U.S. economy. Between 2015 and 2024, it’s estimated that STEAM jobs will continue to grow by another 8.9%. Minorities represent less than 10% of the tech industry.

The Ignite Diverse Tech programming uses a family approach to introduce the black family to emerging technology with the hopes of creating an “Ignited Black Tech Families” and increasing diversity in technology. Our goal is to encourage more minorities to explore technology fields by engaging the family unit with an innovative cultural approach. Our annual event invites minority families to spend a #blacktechday to immersed in the newest innovative careers and ideas.

TOADD is marking Black History Month with the launch of National #BlackTechDay on the third February of the year, which is Feb 16, 2019 at the inaugural Ignite Black Tech Conference in Tucker, Georgia at the Tucker Recreation Center. The event is FREE to the public.

eSports Will…Program
TOADD’s initiatives for our eSports Will program are to expose K-12 students to eSports, encourage students to maximize collegiate and professional eSports opportunities and reward Varsity (high school) eSports participation.

WHAT IS eSPORTS?
eSports exposes future generations to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), as a medium for learning, entertainment, and future careers. For example, designing a video game involves systems thinking, creative problem solving, collaboration, communication. iterative design and computational thinking - all critical skills for pursuing successful 21st Century STEAM careers. eSports encompasses many facets of the video game industry including game design, broadcasting/streaming, hardware and software development (technology innovation), social media marketing, and many other career paths.

Globally, eSports has an audience of over 250 million, revenues of over $252 million, and prize money totaling over $71 million in 2015 alone. Projected revenues for 2017 are estimated at over $1 Billion, and projected revenues for 2020 are estimated at over $3 Billion.

TOADD's eSports Will program community and strategic partners include High School eSports League, NACeSports, Harena Data and Experimental Dynamics.

eSPAN GA Project

The eSPAN GA Project is working in partnership with local corporations to assist high schools in Georgia to prepare middle and high school students to take advantage of new college scholarship and career opportunities by converting the school computer lab into a new 21st century, dual-purpose facility - a Varsity Esports Arena.

 

TADPOLE Class of 20XX

The TADPOLE Class of 20XX is a delightful and fun PRE-Mobile Program for elementary students grades 3-5. This literacy and learning program uses children's books, coloring pages and fun creativity, designed to provide early exposure about the risk and danger of technology to classrooms of young minds. To help teach kids through early awareness about the importance of using technology correctly and responsibly.

Miss Toadd & Friends Appearance (Coming in 2018)

Coming soon...The Miss Toadd & Friends Appearance Program is another fun PRE-Mobile Program for elementary students grades 3-5. The program invites Miss Toadd & Friends to come out and provide highly entertaining and energetically charged technology awareness to young children. The program also includes children's books, coloring pages and fun creativity, designed to provide early exposure about the risk and danger of technology to classrooms of young minds. To help teach kids through early awareness about the importance of using technology correctly and responsibly.

TEENlebrity Program (Mobile, Social & Media Matters)

 TEENlebrity Program is for middle school and high school students grades 6-12. This highly innovative program invites the expertise of High and Middle school students in panels, groups and chats as gurus and experts to discuss and provide solutions for their mobile, social & media technology matters. This type of technology awareness is highly creative, very entertaining and energetically charged. The program allows high school and middle school students have much needed dialogue about the mobile, social and media technology issues that affect their generation and come up with answers and solutions with their peers. The TEENlebrity Program is a hosted program for television and also heavily uses social media, fun and creativity, designed to provide early and ongoing exposure about the risk and danger of using technology irresponsibly. Most importantly help pre-teens and teens teach their peers through innovative awareness about the importance of using technology correctly and responsibly.
